Court Upholds Punitive Damages award in Insurance Bad Faith Case

The California Court of Appeal upheld a punitive damages award in an insurance bad faith case.  The contract claim was only $50,000, and the punitive and emotional distress damages exceeded $3 million.  The case is Walker v. Farmers Insurance Exchange, and plaintiff's attorneys on the case were John N. Quisenberry and Heather M. McKeon of The Quisenberry Law Firm; Andrew N. Chang, Stuart B. Esner and Gregory R. Ellis of Esner, Chang & Ellis.
