Abstract:
One of Merv Griffin's La Quinta neighbors isn't fond of the dust kicked up by the entertainment mogul's 260- acre housing development.
Richard and Linda von Hurst and their 22-year-old son, Dane, claim in a lawsuit filed in November that their health and house, which backs up to the edge of the development dubbed Griffin Ranch, have been diminished by sand from the construction site.
The lawsuit doesn't name Merv Griffin personally but seeks damages from The Griffin Group, Griffin Ranch Development, developer TransWest Housing and the couple's home insurance provider, Unitrin Kemper Auto and Home, for denying their claim that harmful blowing sand should be covered under wind damage.
