Tofte v. Zurich Life Insurance Company of America
Zurich provided a life insurance policy for Ms. Tofte’s husband, Mr. Cook. Mr. Cook was tragically killed in a shooting accident. Zurich refused to pay the policy benefits on the grounds that it was suicide. After we filed suit on the widow’s behalf, the case settled favorably for Ms. Tofte and her two minor children.
