Experience:

Ms. McKeon heads the firm's insurance bad faith litigation practice group.  She represents policyholders of property, automobile, disability, life, health and other insurance policies.  Ms. McKeon also works on construction defect and general litigation cases and has experience with cases concerning attorney billing fraud.

Recently, Ms. McKeon represented thousands of homeowners, businesses and homeowner associations in their insurance claims arising out of the 1994 Northridge earthquake.  Ms. McKeon was a driving force in helping the firm resolve these cases for over $100 million.  For her outstanding efforts in representing those affected by the Northridge Earthquake, Ms. McKeon received the Consumer Attorneys of California 2001 Presidential Award of Merit.  Most recently, Ms McKeon was co-trial counsel in a case where the jury returned a verdict of $9,890,187.55 against Farmers Insurance Exchange over the insurer’s bad faith refusal to defend two of its insureds. (Walker, et al. v. Farmers Group, Inc., et al., BC312281)

Ms. McKeon is a frequent speaker on insurance bad faith, and she is a featured speaker at the firm's yearly seminar, where she shares her knowledge of recent changes in the law as well as the best practices for pursuing an insurance bad faith case.  Each year, she and Mr. Quisenberry update the approximately 600-page handbook detailing insurance bad faith law in California for the firm's seminar.  As part of that effort, Ms. McKeon summarizes the most important appellate decisions regarding insurance published each year.  Ms. McKeon has also co-authored several articles including A New Phoenix Rising From the Ashes: CCP Section 340.9 Constitutionality Extends the Statute of Limitations on Northridge Earthquake Claims, CAOC Forum Magazine (December 2001),  Attorney's fees: How to get paid in an insurance bad faith lawsuit, Advocate magazine (May 2005), and The Genuine-Dispute Doctrine: Has The Tide Changed?, Advocate magazine (May 2006).

Ms. McKeon is a member of Consumer Attorneys Association of California, Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.

Education:

A graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., Ms. McKeon received her J.D., cum laude, in 1996. During law school, Ms. McKeon participated in a full time legal clinic which provided legal services for the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Ms. McKeon received her bachelor's degree in History in 1993, cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
